Anthony J Sargeant enjoys capturing images of landscapes and patterns. The title page photograph was taken during a holiday on the Isle of Skye in the summer of 2010.
The photograph below was taken from the jetty at Elgol on The Isle of Skye looking across the bay towards Glen Coruisk and the Cuillin Mountains. It was a sensational sunny August day.
The photograph below was taken on The Isle of Skye from the Old Man of Storr looking south towards the Kyle of Lochalsh which separates The Isle of Skye from the mainland of Scotland.
The Dower House Garden at Morville Hall - A wonderful garden in Shropshire
On Wednesday afternoon we went to this wonderful garden created by Dr Katherine Swift. Tea and scones in the sunshine was an added bonus. Not to be missed if you are in the area.
Anthony J Sargeant took this photograph at 5 am on the 15th June 2015 from his bedroom window. The sun is just rising through the trees in a blaze of gold. It is almost midsummer. We are incredibly privileged to live in such beautiful countryside.
A rare medieval coffer carved from a solid tree trunk and then fitted with a lid and associated ironwork. These survive most commonly in churches and were used to keep valuables - they were so heavy that stealing them was almost impossible. This one was photographed by Anthony J Sargeant in the Church of St Gregory the Great in Morville, Shropshire UK. Needless to say it no longer contains the church silver - that is in the vault of the local bank - only a few old hymn books.
'Art Work' outside Tate Modern
This wonderful pattern of steel has been arranged outside Tate Modern - actually it is scaffolding on the adjacent building but ..
Occo busso was lastnights supper
Rose veal Occo Busso slow cooked according to The Guardian food page. It was delicious - the sweetness of the marrow was especially good with the veal. We had some fresh green runner beans and made porcini and pea risotto but this was really too much and we think unecessary. We think it only needed a few crushed potatoes to soak up the juices. The Occo Busso came from Ludlow Food Centre - which has an excellent butchery counter.
